Films for the Fourth

Yeah, you could watch Independence Day or Born on the Fourth of July, but I recommend:

Tootsie

or Myra Breckinridge

They will be much more entertaining! Happy 4th of July!!!

Celebrate our Independence!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

I've been slacking

My posts have been sporadic, but I hereby pledge to do better.

"...and that's the truth. pppthbbbbbtttt!"

Olan Mills

If Olan Mills or another photo studio had a set-up like this one, I might would have a portrait of Mom Smackley and I to share.

This publicity shot of Miss Barbara Stanwyck from The Big Valley reminds me of a site that if you haven't visited, you must do so now.

It's called Awkward Family Photos.com

It celebrates the funny, weird, and awkward family photos that everyone at one time or another has been in. (If you haven't been in a photo like this, then you were one of the lucky few.) So in order to "Spread the Awkwardness", take a look at their site.

Happy Birthday Randy Jones!!!

Still looking good!

If you haven't seen my Monday's Man post on Randy...check it out.

What're you looking at?

I know, I know...

...I know, I said I'd post my What's On? Wednesday post today, but I've decided to procrastinate one more day. Those days when I'm really busy at work, I just want to come home and veg. I'm planning a post for The Gay Deceivers and I want to make sure I express how I felt about the film. Getting the right tone is important to me, but when I'm tired, I just can't seem to concentrate enough. So in addition to Funny Face Friday, I will post the What's On? post on The Gay Deceivers.

See, the best procrastinators will have excuses and then try to make it seem that by waiting you will be getting something extra special. The fact is the only extra things you've gotten are two shots from the films Murderer's Row and The Driver's Seat. Hey, who can pass up La Liz?

Singing the Blues

What's On? Wednesday has been postponed until Thursday.

Under the Weather

Summer colds are the worst! I've been sick for two days, but thanks to Nyquil and Zicam, I'm back (though not 100%).

If you like After Dark and Bette Midler, be sure to visit this weekend. Bette Midler was After Dark's most prolific cover girl and I'll be featuring those issues.

Silly Saturday

Formicida

I had to post my sorrow at hearing of the passing of Lorene Yarnell. I used to watch the specials that she and her former husband Robert Shields used to do and then i would spend the following weeks acting like a robot. Lorene will forever be linked in my mind as the only super powered supervillainess that Wonder Woman fought on the live action TV show. Lorene played Formicida who had the proportionate strength of an insect and could call insects to do her bidding.

Lorene Yarnell (1944-2010)

Vacation!!!

Vacation,
all I ever wanted.
Vacation,
had to get away.

Hey! Aren't you...?

Back in 1975, Esquire magazine placed an ad in the New York papers, asking for look-alikes. Seven hundred people responded, but only nineteen were chosen. The September 1975 issue of Esquire featured a two-page spread photo taken by photographer Jan Michael. Do you think they look like the person they say they do? There is one, I thought was supposed to be someone else. Do you even know who they were supposed to be? If not, what does that mean about the staying power of celebrities? In any case, here is the photo:
