Where did you go?
Monday's Man: Daniel Letterle
This young actor first appeared as a lead actor in Camp. At the age of 24, he was able to pass as high school student Vlad in this "High School Musical goes to summer camp" film. He sang a few songs including "Wild Horses" and looked cute, but I never really gave him too much thought at the time. Camp was a cute movie and his character spurned the camp diva for the "Plain Jane" girl (yay) and even openly flirted with the drag queen wannabe boy (yay, again).
It was The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green, where he played the title character, that I really thought this young man may hit it big. Based on the comic strip by Eric Orner, this film had a great supporting cast with Meredith Baxter playing his mother and Joel Brooks and Richard Riehle as the "Hat Sisters".
If you get a chance to see it, it is definitely worth the rental. Many of the films from gay cinema have unfortunately low budgets and less than average scripts. This film rose above the budget and is a very entertaining film. I'm not much for the shallow characters in gay films and Ethan starts off really shallow, but the movie is fun and worth the rental.
In 2006 at the age of 27, Daniel had a brush with the law and moved back to Ohio. I don't know the details and, to be honest, don't really care, except that he hasn't acted in a feature film since then and it's a shame. According to his MySpace page, he and his wife are living in New York, New York, but another person has stated he went back to become a firefighter in Ohio and loves it.
Either way, my best to you Daniel. You have fans out there, but I'm sure you are making fans of the people you help in your new career.
